About Us
Making technology education practical, engaging and accessible
About Us
MakerBuddy is an educational platform that helps students learn electronics, coding and IoT through hands-on projects. Our goal is to make learning technology practical, engaging and easy to understand for students of all ages.
Each MakerBuddy kit includes all the components, step-by-step tutorials and learning materials needed to start building real projects right away. We make complex topics simple so that every learner can explore how technology works in everyday life.
We believe that real learning happens when students build something themselves. MakerBuddy gives them the tools and confidence to think logically, solve problems and turn ideas into working prototypes.
Our Vision
We want every student to have the chance to explore technology in a practical way.
Our main goals are:
- Access: Provide affordable, high-quality learning tools for all students.
- Practical Learning: Help learners connect theory to real projects and experiments.
- Early Innovation: Introduce kids to programming and electronics before grade 10.
We see MakerBuddy as a bridge between classrooms and creativity. Our vision is to make MakerBuddy a part of schools, clubs and homes across the world so that young learners can develop the skills needed for the future.
Our Story
In 2017, while working in the technology field, I started teaching part-time. I taught software development, freelancing and IoT to university students. Over time, I realized that many students from Software Engineering, IT and Computer Science backgrounds were interested in IoT but had very little experience with electronics.
They often faced problems with wiring sensors, handling power connections and getting correct readings. Sometimes, components were damaged because of wrong wiring or low power from the development board. These small mistakes made learning difficult and confusing for them.
To solve this, I started working on a system that made hardware learning simple and safe. I designed a connector-based setup that allowed easy and secure connections between sensors and the development board. This made the process faster, power-efficient and error-free.
Later, I thought about bringing the same idea to younger students. In Pakistan, most students do not get to learn computer programming before grade 10, so I wanted to change that. I created a web app that shows sensor data and lets students control devices easily.
Finally, I developed the Rule Engine, which works as the brain of the system. It helps students create simple automation and do exciting projects on their own. That's how MakerBuddy began—a project built to make learning electronics, coding and IoT fun, safe and easy for everyone.
Over time, MakerBuddy grew into more than just a kit. It became a complete learning platform for schools, teachers and parents who want to prepare students for a technology-driven world. Our focus is to help students understand how things work, not just how to use them. Through MakerBuddy, we aim to inspire a new generation of thinkers, builders and creators who can solve real-world problems with confidence and curiosity.
