In 2017, Muhammad Afzal was teaching software development, freelancing and IoT part-time alongside his technology work. Many university students from software engineering, IT and computer science were interested in IoT but had little experience with electronics.
Loose wiring, unsuitable power connections and incorrect sensor readings repeatedly interrupted the learning. Small setup mistakes could damage components or leave students unsure whether the problem was in their code, circuit or power supply.
That experience led to a connector-based hardware system that made common sensor and actuator connections faster and more consistent. A web app then gave learners a direct way to see sensor data and control devices. The rule engine added a visual bridge between observing hardware and expressing automation logic.
MakerBuddy grew from that sequence of problems: reduce avoidable friction, preserve the important concepts and help learners reach the moment when their own idea starts working. Over time, it became a broader learning platform for schools, teachers and parents who want students to understand how technology works, not just how to use it.
